New song by Bily Acoustie. I know a lot of you guys like him, but to me all his songs are meh. I guess this one isn’t too bad, haha.
What motivates us? Is it someone, or something? What really makes to try in life, to even live on?
From school to video games, I was never the top. Whatever I did, I was always in the top 20%, but I never tried harder than that, and I think a large part of it comes from the way in which I’m motivated: I’m guided by the fear of failure rather than the need for success. To me, as any good Asian would say, anything below 80% is failing. And it’s been hammered into my head that failure in any thing in any form at any time is unacceptable, both to my parents and to myself. I fear failing so much that sometimes, when I lack the confidence, I shy away from putting the effort in to even give something a try, and that’s no good.
I recently changed my view on one fundamental belief I’ve held since I was little, that people can’t change. People can change, and I’ll prove that to myself.
