To me, most of Nell’s songs are very boring in some ways. They just flow without a punch, composed of a lot of repeats, and end without much of an ending. But the more you listen to their songs, the more… uncomfortable you feel. You feel like you’re getting sucked into a spiral, and you start to remember certain memories, even the ones you tried not to bring back. This is my favorite song out of their newly released album C. Hey Michael :) Nell is my favorite rock/indie group and you’re totally right about them having this same style of repeating beats/melodies/lyrics. But I think it’s this certain pattern that takes our minds somewhere else, making us remember things. Idk maybe it’s not, I don’t think I’ll be ever able to name what is so special about them.
