Request Thursdays. I would guess most of you have heard today’s song before, perhaps amidst one of those endless chain of “related videos” on Youtube. It’s OK, we’ve all been down that path, binge watching Youtube videos, and three hours later wondering why and how you ended up watching a video of a cow using a back scratcher… Magic trick and audition videos have to be the absolute worst, but I digress
그저 그런 하루 was released in 2011 as a part of Mint Paper Project Vol. 4, which includes one of my all time favorites. It’s surprising that I haven’t translated that many songs by No Reply; I would say they’re one of the better known Korean indie groups, and justifiably so. While I don’t think they have a distinct style, it’s the consistency and the awfully ordinary story they tell through their songs that make No Reply so easy to listen to. I think I’ve been playing it too safe with my song selections this week… I’ll have to post a bit of a unique one tomorrow.
