The much anticipated third single by the sibling duo O Broject. I was starting to get a bit worried, thinking the song wouldn’t live up to the ridiculous amount of hype they were creating on their Facebook page… and while the song isn’t bad, it’s not that great either.
Some searching on Youtube revealed that the title they just released is a funkier remake of an old song by them, and while the newer version is certainly catchier, I think I prefer their old style. It’s pretty common for rappers to move away from their old unique (and usually calmer) style to a much more lively one as they gain popularity. Some good examples would be Verbal Jint, Mad Clown, and Beenzino (back when he was a part of Jazzy Fact). It’s probably because raps are so easily influenced by the rappers’ personal lives and where their focus lies (IT RHYMES), and money/popularity tends to change all of that. This song kind of shows how quickly they have changed, and it makes me wonder if this is the style they have always wanted, or if they’re simply trying to conform to what the people want. I just hope they don’t lose too much of what made them special.
(한해(Hanhae) of 팬텀(Phantom)(1:07) really reminded me of Loco.) (That’s a lot of (parenthesis))

What about you meeting on Sunday
그럼 내가 무슨 생각을 할지 you guessed it
What about you meeting on Sunday
What about you meeting on Sunday
Getting used to your dull job
That you thought would end at 6
Now you’re chill with the boss
And every day’s just a 9 through 5
You’ve been calling me less, I guess
We’re too busy with our own lives
Yesterday and today seem too far apart
And in the midst of all that in this busy country
I’ve been holding on to this mic for now 6 years
Grabbing on to my pen and scribbling
Words, rapping to the bass kick
Now I’m rapping next to Basick
On the stage at the hottest club
I’ve already come so far
It’s too early for a cheers, but let’s go grab drink
It’s been awhile, let’s talk over a beer
Oh, how’s life, are you seeing anyone?
What about you meeting on Sunday
Or maybe this weekend, closer to my holiday
Let’s go grab drink then
Everyone’s blaming you
You don’t need to tell me I know
But life is actually pretty simple
Just brush it off and grab a drink
Even around me, it’s still full of people
Taking sides and ranking you by the top charts
But instead of getting mad, I pity them
And they probably think me rude
While lying on their back
And when they tell me to grow up
You know what I’ll say, you guessed it
The scream that doesn’t make it past my throat
Their words are not even worth drinking over
It’s just sad that I don’t give a damn
Stop wasting time and pour me another
And pour out your dreams too while you’re at it
It’s been awhile, let’s talk over a beer
Oh, how’s life, are you seeing anyone?
What about you meeting on Sunday
Or maybe this weekend, closer to my holiday
Let’s go grab drink then
Hey, why do you look so down
Tell me before you bring me down too
I know one glass won’t cut it but
Let me hear you out, go ahead
Uh drink as much as you want
I can take you home
Fill it up more, this won’t be enough
This will be our last one, so drink
It’s been awhile, let’s talk over a beer
Oh, how’s life, are you seeing anyone?
What about you meeting on Sunday
Or maybe this weekend, closer to my holiday
Let’s go grab drink then
Put behind your worries and fill up your drinks
Throw away your stress and put up your drinks
Put up your arms high and empty your drinks
Throw out all your problems and cheers, let’s grab a drink
