어느새 봄 (Spring Before I Knew It) is the title song for Saevom’s new album… and as with all title songs, it’s just ite. I don’t know why, but I feel like I don’t like most of the title songs. Standing Egg and Lucia are coming out with new songs soon, so hopefully I’ll get to finish translating most of this album by then. Oh, and as always, I’ll start off by apologizing if you’re here just for the lyrics. You may skip my irrelevant and insignificant life stories to go straight to the lyrics. I’m not saying you’re a bad person if you do that. But you wouldn’t be a good person either.
It really is starting to feel like spring, at least here in the East Coast. The weather was so nice last week that G and I decided to go on an ice cream hunt in NYC. Here’s a quick look into how the planning went…
Yea, she’s pretty good at this. So cute. With her expert planning skills, we came up with this route:
Dun dun dun. Two museums, three ice cream places, and two restaurants. A bit too ambitious? You’re right, I could probably use one more ice cream shop… but anyways, onto our first stop!
My god, what a start to our day that was. We had to wait in line for an hour and 19 minutes for that sushi burrito. I mean, it was good, but definitely not 1 hour-19 minutes good. The one saving grace was that they forgot to charge us for the avocado; free avo is best avo. OK, onto our next stop. Oh, and I’m going to skip the museums, because some things are just more important than others in life.
Cute, eh? This is from Snowdays, a shaved ice place in West Village. Being Korean, I had to order Got Seoul… and to be honest, we were both pretty disappointed. The ice itself wasn’t all that soft, and the black sesame was meh at best. I haven’t found a place in the US that lives up to even the crappiest shaved ice places in Korea. I’ll give it a 3/10, and a good part of that score comes from the cute yeti. Next!
This is I Love You a Latte from 10Below. What’s with these cheesy ice cream names? I like it.
Making good use of that Vine account (Edit: Awkward… Vine is gone. Well, they were just short clips of the ice cream making.). The ice cream was very chewy, much better than Snowdays. 7/10, even with the dude in front me who stained my shoes with his blueberries. After all that mushy goodness, we decided to go to a shabu-shabu place in Lower East Side. And guess what we had for dessert? More ice cream.
They had one of my favorite ice cream flavors, red bean. I probably liked this one the best, which is kinda sad given that it was just a complementary ice cream that came with our dinner. As we walked out of the restaurant, we seriously considered making one last ice cream stop… but the blisters on my feet were literally crying, begging me not to go. So I did something I never thought I would do in my life: I said “no” to ice cream.
I love ice cream.
Ice cream.

Ice cream.
Slowly
하루는 더디게만 흐르고
우리는 거리마다 곳곳에
겹겹이 쌓여 숨어있던 나를
더 움츠리게 하고
So lonely
In the rain
I’m sorry
지금 너는 내 곁에 없는데
이제야 나 알 것만 같아
그대 나를 지새운 밤들
Slowly
The days grow longer
Seeing us in every turn
Makes me wince
Back into my shell
So lonely
Through the blurred memories
I finally realized
How hard you tried for us
Breaks me down once again
Spring came before I knew it
While I stayed behind, all alone in winter
All the time we promised each other
Became mere reasons to cry over
In the rain
Your plain back, walking away
Now I can understand
All the words you meant to me
Please turn back, turn back just once
Spring came before I knew it
While I stayed behind, all alone in winter
All the time we promised each other
Became mere reasons to cry over
I’m sorry
You’re no longer next to me but
Now I can finally understand
All the days you kept me awake
This is cute af
One could say you internally scream for ice cream.
also, i havent had a sushi burrito yet but it always seems like an abomination to me. like a seal in a jungle.
