(Wilcox) – Rain Man

It’s been raining a lot here in Boston lately, and my movie nut friend has been taking me to watch a lot of movies. I don’t know how those two relate, but I do know that you should watch The Big Sick, preferably with a date, and should stay away from A Ghost Story. I mean, unless you’re able to tolerate, or even appreciate, modern art. Then go for it.
I feel like this guy deserves a bit more attention. I like his lyrics and had a lot of fun translating this one .

Rain Man

Sometimes I feel like a raindrop
맞는 비 like a rain man

How do I get there, there, there
How do I get there, there
Sounds like 투두둑
(Knock Knock Rain Man)

Sometimes I feel like a raindrop
맞는 비 like a rain man

How do I get there, there, there
How do I get there, there
Sounds like 투두둑
(Knock Knock Rain Man)
Wilcox – Rain Man

On a rainy day with my sister’s CD player
Through the alleyway as narrow as my shoulders
Back when I hated home more than school
There was this one thing I couldn’t bear
Walking through the bottles and cans
My grandma hoarded to sell to the man
Going to school on that damp summer day
In my sweat drenched jacket that turned grey

Sometimes I feel like a raindrop
A puddle full of memory at twenty-six years old
Ripples run through my head
Like a smudged ink in the rain
When I finally made my first fire
Mom warned me the world isn’t as I desire
I’m sorry but I still want to believe
Dancing in the rain like a rain man

The rain falls
Where the sun used to be
The clouds of “once upon a time”
Come knocking on my window
How do I get there, there, there
How do I get there, there
Sounds like doo doo doo
(Knock Knock Rain Man)
The tingling scent of rain

The boy who used to rap through the night
My first album at twenty-four years old
I guess I’m singing now, too
With a plane ticket in one hand
And the door knob in the other
Remembering that stench
That filled up the room
The smell I could never get used to

Sometimes I feel like a raindrop
A puddle full of memory at twenty-six years old
Ripples run through my head
Like a smudged ink in the rain
When I finally made my first fire
Mom warned me the world isn’t as I desire
I’m sorry but I still want to believe
Dancing in the rain like a rain man

My scattered thoughts
Gather into a drop of rain
And fall without a notice
Reminiscing on the days
Sitting alone in my room

The rain falls
Where the sun used to be
The clouds of “once upon a time”
Come knocking on my window
How do I get there, there, there
How do I get there, there
Sounds like doo doo doo
(Knock Knock Rain Man)
The tingling scent of rain
